What is ViewShift?

ViewShift is a way to approach the same web article in a format that better suits your time, attention and goal—while keeping the original reporting within reach.

The simple version

An article can be accurate and still be hard to enter. It might be too long for the time you have, dense with unfamiliar terms or structured in a way that does not click for you. ViewShift offers alternative presentations of supported articles, called shifts.

What a shift can do

A shift may make the language plainer, surface key facts first, turn a sequence into steps, shorten the read or use a more playful voice. The purpose is not to declare one version better. It is to give readers another useful route into the reporting.

The important boundary

A generated version can miss nuance or make mistakes. Use it to orient yourself, then compare it with the original source when a claim, quote, number or conclusion matters.

Who it is for

Anyone who wants more control over how they read: people moving quickly, readers learning a new subject, people who prefer more structure and people who simply enjoy a fresh perspective. It is a reading tool, not a substitute for journalism or expert advice.
